What We Believe

Beliefs

Worship of God should be spiritual. Therefore, we remain flexible and yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit to direct our worship.

Worship to God should be inspirational. Therefore, we give a great place to music in our worship.

Worship of God should be intelligent. Therefore, our services are designed with great emphasis upon teaching the Word of God (the Bible) that He might instruct us how He would be worshipped.

Worship of God is fruitful. Therefore, we look for His love in our lives as the supreme manifestation that we have truly been worshipping Him.

Doctrine

We firmly believe the great doctrines of historic Christianity as they are revealed in the Bible.

The whole Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God (authoritative for daily life) without error in the original writings.

Isaiah 40:8; Timothy 3:16

There is one God, infinite, eternal, and immutable. He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Governor of all things. He exists in three persons -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1:1; Isaiah 44:6; John 1:1-3, 14; Acts 5:3-4; Colossians 1:15-18; Revelation 1:8

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God who became man, without ceasing to be God; His virgin birth; His sinless life; His subsitutionary death of our sins; His bodily resurrection, ascension, and second coming.

Luke 1:26-38; Acts 1:9; Romans 5:6; 1 Corinthians 15:3-6; Philippians 2:6-12; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; Hebrews 4:15-16

All men are sinners by nature and by practice, being alienated from God; that man is unable to remedy his lost condition in and of himself.

Romans 3:23, 6:23

Salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Those who have so trusted Christ are indwelt by the Holy Spirit and enabled to live a godly life through submission to Him.

Romans 6:23, 10:9-10

The Holy Spirit is a person. He is God and possesses all the divine attributes. He indwells all believers, baptizes, imparts gifts (charismata) as He wills, and fills them in response to confession of sin and submission.

John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8, 5:3-4; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13

Unconfessed sin and an unrepentant heart brings interruption to fellowship with God, bringing loving discipline of the Heavenly Father.

Hebrews 12:5-11; 1 John 1:9

We believe in the church of Jesus Christ as the body of true believers universal, called out by the Holy Spirit, espoused to be the Bride of Christ, to be removed from this earth in a pre-great tribulation "catching away", and not appointed to suffer God's wrath.

Ephesians 4:3-7, 5:25-27; Revelation 21:2; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18, 5:9

We believe in the personal, visible, imminent, and pre-millennial return of Jesus Christ to establish His kingdom.

Revelation 19:11-20:6

We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto eternal life and the lost unto eternal judgment.

Revelation 20:5-6, 11:15
